Why Direction Matters More Than Speed
Before the disciplines, it's worth naming why this matters so much. Most businesses that fail don't fail because the owner didn't work hard enough. They fail because of decisions — the wrong hire, the overreach, the market misread, the direction that felt right in the moment but wasn't. Even 15 minutes of genuine, unhurried prayer and Scripture reading at the start of your workday creates a spiritual atmosphere that carries through your entire day.

In business terms, this means your decisions will carry greater clarity, confidence, and long-term fruitfulness when they're born out of a posture of waiting.

6. Pay Attention to Peace
Philippians 4:7 describes the peace of God as a "guard" that keeps your heart and mind. In prophetic business coaching, I teach clients to treat this peace as a navigational signal — God's internal GPS for business decisions.
When you're aligned with God's direction, there is often a deep, settled peace — even when the decision looks risky or unconventional on paper. Conversely, when something is out of alignment with God's will, there's often a persistent unease or check in your spirit, even when the numbers look good.
Some of the wisest decisions my clients have made looked wrong on the spreadsheet and right in their spirit — turning down a lucrative contract that would have compromised their values, holding off on an expansion everyone said was obvious, keeping a staff member the numbers said to let go. And some of their costliest mistakes came from overriding that quiet check because the deal looked too good to pass up. Peace is not the only input, but it is one you learn to stop ignoring.
